It looks like Kovalev's NHL career is coming to an end. Things didn't work out with Kovalev and the Panthers so his career is likely over.
Kovalev isn't the player he once was which is evident by the fact that he was a healthy scratch in the Panthers last two games. Unless scratching him woke him up and will spark some serious offensive production Kovalev remains as a low-end fantasy option.
Kovalev had a strong start to his career as a Panther but has fallen off a lot lately. The 39 year-old has no fantasy value until he gets back into the Panthers lineup and starts scoring.
Kovalev isn't the player he used to be but still has some skill and brings experience to the Panthers. Keep an eye on him, he could make some fantasy noise.
We're expecting Kovalev to perform well past his prime in this short season.
