Copp was dealing with a sore knee after taking a shot off of his right leg during the preseason. Copp is expected to start the season on the third line with Adam Lowry and Joel Armia. The 23-year-old forward had nine goals and eight assists (17 points) in 64 games with the Jets last season.

Copp was sent down on Wednesday but did not get into a game with the Moose. With Marko Dano getting hurt last night and being placed on IR this afternoon, Copp is back with the Jets, where he has four goals and three assists (seven points) in 25 games this season.

Copp, 22, has seven points (4G / 3A) in 25 games with the Jets since being recalled from Manitoba on November 2nd. The former fourth round pick (104th overall in 2013) returns to the Moose where he has five assists in eight games.

Copp, 22, has picked up five assists in eight games with Manitoba this season. The 2013 fourth round pick played 77 games with the Jets last year, collecting seven goals and six assists (13 points). He is expected to take Shawn Matthias’ spot in the lineup after he landed on IR on Wednesday.

Copp suffered an upper-body injury injury on Halloween and was held out of Monday’s game. Comp has been placed on IR so the Jets could recall Patrice Cormier from Manitoba (AHL).

Copp, 20, was a fourth round pick (104th overall) of the Jets in 2013. Copp scored 14 goals and 17 assists (31 points) in 36 games at the University of Michigan (NCAA) this season. He is expected to report to the Jets.
