Andrew Shaw News

Shaw (concussion) will miss the remainder of the 2020 season.

Shaw has been out since November 30th and will miss the final 18 games of the season with lingering concussion issues. Missing such a lengthy period of time with a concussion is obviously not a good sign and hopefully, Shaw will be ready to return to the NHL at the start of the 2021 campaign.

Shaw (undisclosed) will not play on Monday.

The Blackhawks were extremely vague when they released Shaw's update, simply stating that he will not play vs. St. Louis and is undergoing further evaluation. Shaw's injury puts Chicago in a very difficult spot as they will have to play short a forward tonight with Dylan Strome still out and not enough cap-space to call-up a forward from Rockford (AHL).

The Blackhawks have acquired Andrew Shaw and a 2021 seventh-round pick from the Canadiens for a 2020 second-round pick, 2021 third-round pick and a 2020 seventh-round.

Shaw is entering the fourth-year of a six-year contract that carries a $3.9M cap-hit. Shaw struggled in his first two seasons in Montreal but is coming off of a career-best 47 points (19G / 28A) in 63 games in the 2018-19 season. Shaw spent the first four and a half seasons of his career with Chicago, where he won two Stanley Cups.

Shaw (knee) is “good to go” for the Canadiens season opener.

Shaw was expected to miss the first couple of weeks of the 2018-19 season, but told reporters that he is ready to play in the Canadiens season opener on Wednesday. There’s no indication where Shaw will slot into the Canadiens’ lineup, but he doesn’t come with any fantasy upside.

Shaw (lower-body) will not join the team for the start of their upcoming four-game road trip.

Shaw has 19 points (10G/9A) in 43 games this season. He has been out since January 13th with a lower-body injury and has yet to return to practice. It seems unlikely he will return before the end of the Habs' four-game road trip.

Shaw is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury; will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.

Shaw missed practice on Sunday and will miss at least 7-10 days with a lower-body injury. It sounds like he could be sidelined for longer and the Canadiens have claimed Logan Shaw from Anaheim to take his roster spot for the time being.
