Andreoff had 20 goals, 28 points, 34 PIMs and a -7 plus/minus in 46 games with the Bridgeport Islanders (AHL) and received the call-up Thursday after Jean-Gabriel Pageau (upper-body) was placed on the injured reserve. Andreoff has previously played in 185 career NHL games across seven separate seasons with three different teams.
Andy Andreoff News
Andreoff played in five straight games with the Islanders but switches spots with Austin Czarnik, presumably to allow Czarnik to play in his hometown of Detroit on Saturday.
Andreoff was limited to nine games a season ago, six with the Flyers and three with the Phantoms (AHL). The 30-year-old forward will likely report to Bridgeport (AHL) to start the 2021-22 season. He has 25 points (13G / 12A) in 179 career NHL games with the Kings and Flyers.
The Flyers dressed seven defensemen on Tuesday but will go back to the traditional 12 forwards and seven defensemen on Thursday. Andreoff, who has no points and four PIMS in three games this season, will replace Philippe Myers and skate on the fourth line.
With Joel Farabee out with an illness, Andreoff will suit up for his 14th NHL game of the season on Thursday. He has just one assist in his previous 13 and 10 points (6G / 4A) in 25 AHL games this season.
Andreoff was set to be a healthy scratch for the second straight night, so he heads back to the AHL with Mark Friedman coming up to take his spot on the roster. Andreoff has four goals and four assists in 14 AHL games this season.
The Flyers are dealing with injuries upfront so they have a lot of Phantoms on the roster right now and Andreoff is the latest to get called-up. Andreoff has one assist in six games with the Flyers and eight points (4G / 4A) in 14 AHL games this season.
Andreoff appeared in six games while he was with the Flyers and tallied one assist and fired eight shots on net. His return to the AHL opens up a roster spot for Scott Laughton (finger) to be activated from LTIR. Andreoff has seven points (3G / 4A) in 11 AHL games.
Andreoff has had a nice start to the AHL season, posting three goals and four assists (seven points) in 10 games with Lehigh Valley. He was fourth among Syracuse Crunch (AHL) forwards in points (55) in 75 games last season but has never played more than a fourth-line role in the NHL. He has just 24 points (13G / 11A) in 159 career NHL games, all with the Los Angeles Kings.
Andreoff, 27, was drafted in the third-round (No.80 overall) in 2011 and has picked up just 24 points (13G / 11A) in 159 career NHL games. Andreoff, who had nine points in 45 games last season, will have to fight among one of the deepest forward groups for playing time in Tampa Bay in 2019. Andreoff may take the spot of Chris Kunitz, who will be a free agent in July, on the Lightning’s fourth line.
Andreoff was hurt in Sunday’s win over the Ducks and will miss at least four games while he remains in Los Angeles. According to head coach John Stevens, Andreoff didn’t break anything but he just needs rest and recovery.
Andreoff enjoyed moderate success in 2015-16, posting 10 points (8G / 2A) in 60 games with the Kings, but struggled to find regular playing time in 2016-17, failing to score a goal while posting two assists in 36 contests. Andreoff is a serviceable fourth-line centre as he won 59.4% of the 69 faceoffs he took a season ago.
Andreoff has not played since October 31st, so they will send him to Manchester to get some games in.
As an OHL player, Czarnik has no immediate fantasy hockey value.
