Lovejoy played 11 NHL seasons with the Penguins (184 games), Ducks (150), Devils (190) and Stars (20) and finished with 101 points (20G / 81A) in 544 career games. Lovejoy won a Stanley Cup in Pittsburgh in 2016.
Ben Lovejoy News
Lovejoy is a defensive-defenseman with pretty good size and excellent mobility but really doesn’t bring any offence to the table. Lovejoy has just two goals and five assists (seven points) in 51 games this season. He has also picked up 70 shots, 59 hits and 77 blocked shots along the way. He provides the Stars with some added depth and will likely play the right-side on the Stars third-pair.
Lovejoy’s name has surfaced as a potential trade deadline rental, so he will be sidelined for the second straight game.
Lovejoy has missed the last six games with an upper-body injury but is set to return Thursday vs. the Islanders. Lovejoy brings very little in terms of offence, scoring just once with five assists in 43 games this season.
Lovejoy’s move to IR is retroactive to January 15th, which means that he can return to the lineup whenever he is healthy. Lovejoy will miss his third straight game, so Egor Yakovlev was recalled from Binghamton (AHL).
Lovejoy is day-to-day with an upper-body injury so Steven Santini will draw back into the Devils lineup on Thursday.
Lovejoy has missed the last three games with a lower-body injury, but will travel to Tampa Bay and could return to the lineup on Tuesday. Lovejoy has just one assist while averaging 15:49 TOI/GM in five games this season.
Lovejoy missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury and will miss at least Thursday’s vs. the Predators after being placed on IR. His roster spot was filled by Eric Gryba, who was called up from Binghamton (AHL) in a corresponding move.
Lovejoy will miss Saturday’s game and be re-evaluated next week. The Devils are hopeful that the injury is short-term, but Steve Santini will likely replace him for now.
Lovejoy has appeared in 16 games this season, picking up just four points (1G / 3A). Tonight he will sit and Steve Santini will take his spot on the blueline.
Lovejoy climbed into the Devils’ lineup on Saturday and recorded one assist in 15:54 TOI, but will be replaced by Mirco Mueller vs. the Lightning tonight.
Lovejoy, 32, is a big blueliner (6’2” / 205 lbs) who moves better than his frame would suggest. However, he has never been a big point producer, carrying a career-high of 18 points (2013-14) into free agency. After the Ducks traded Adam Larsson to the Oilers, they needed to add a defenseman and the Lovejoy signing addresses that need.
Lovejoy has missed the last 15 games with an upper-body injury, but will replace Olli Maatta in the lineup tonight in Detroit. Lovejoy has just nine points (3G / 6A) in 57 games this season.
Lovejoy, 31, does everything pretty well, but does nothing great. He returns to the team that he started his career with. He had four goals and 21 assists (25 points) in 98 games with the Penguins from 2008-13. This season he has 11 points (1G / 10A) in 40 games with the Ducks. He should fill Despres spot on the Penguins third pair.
