Blake Comeau News

Comeau cleared waivers and was reassigned to Texas (AHL).

Comeau played in six straight games after making his season debut on October 27th but was waived in order to open up a roster spot for Riley Tufte to be recalled from the AHL. The 35-year-old returns to the AHL for the first time since 2009.

Comeau (COVID-19 protocol) will be a game-time decision on Saturday.

Comeau has not played yet this season after opening the year on the COVID-19 protocol list but will be one of three game-time decisions for Saturday's game in Carolina. The Stars are hopeful that at least two of Comeau, Jamie Benn and/or Roope Hintz can play tonight, so there's a chance that Comeau makes his season debut tonight.

Comeau (undisclosed) is not expected to play on Friday.

The entire first week of the Stars' season was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak and it doesn't look like they will have Comeau for their season opener on Friday. Comeau is not an offensive force but he is a key part of the Stars' shutdown line with Andrew Cogliano and Radek Faksa. Ty Dellandrea is expected to make his NHL debut in his place.

Comeau is not on the ice for the Stars morning skate and is questionable to play in Game 3.

Comeau was forced to leave Game 2 following a collision at centre ice. He left the ice hunched over and did not return to the game. His absence from Wednesday's morning skate suggests that Comeau will not be available for Game 3 vs. the Lightning.

Comeau is expected to miss multiple weeks with a lower-body strain.

Comeau fell awkwardly after taking a puck to the face and suffered a lower-body injury that will cost him a couple of weeks. The Stars recalled Rhett Gardner and Nick Caamano from Texas (AHL) to fill-in for Comeau and Jason Dickinson (upper-body).
