Pittsburgh has signed Bokondji Imama to a one-year, $775,000 contract extension.

Imama appeared in 16 games with the Penguins in 2024-25, picking up one goal, 30 PIMs and a +2 plus/minus and earned himself a one-year, $775,000 contract extension on Friday. The 28-year-old bruiser has appeared in 31 career NHL games with three separate organizations (ARI, OTT, PIT) but has never averaged more than 7:29 TOI in any of his four seasons.

Imama (upper-body) has been activated from IR and will play against the Flyers on Thursday.

Imama had been on the IR since February 7th due to an upper-body injury but is healthy and has been activated on Thursday ahead of Pittsburgh's game vs. Philadelphia. The 28-year-old left-winger had failed to pick up a point in any of his six appearances so far this season and will likely return to his bottom-six role as a depth forward for the Penguins upon his return.

Imama had five goals, 10 assists, 109 PIMs and a +3 plus/minus with the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 with Ottawa. The 26-year-old left-winger also appeared in five games for Arizona last season but failed to pick up a point to go along with his five PIMs and -2 plus/minus. He brings a goal, 10 PIMs and nine games of NHL experience to the Senators.

Imama failed to pick up a point through five games with the Coyotes but had five PIMs and a -2 plus/minus but has been re-assigned to Tucson (AHL) Friday. He heads back to the Roadrunners, where he has five goals, eight assists, 96 PIMs and a +5 plus/minus through 43 games played this season.
