Byram will not dress on Thursday against the Washington Capitals due to personal reasons after missing practice earlier in the day. Byram recorded an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Dallas Stars, snapping a seven-game pointless skid.

Byram was acquired from Colorado in a one-for-one deal for Casey Mittlestadt on Wednesday and will make his Sabres' debut on Thursday in Nashville. The Sabres blueline will be a treat for years to come after acquiring Byram on Wednesday, adding to an already talented core of Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power. Byram was having a down year offensively with the Avalanche, with 20 points (8G / 12A) in 55 games this season.

Byram last played on Nov. 4th due to a lower-body injury but will rejoin the surging Colorado Avalanche Tuesday. The 21-year-old prospect had started his sophomore season off strong, with two goals, three assists, 11 SOG and a +3 plus/minus through his first 10 games prior to going down for months with the injury.

Byram did not play in the Avalanche's second half of their back-to-back series in Finland and was announced Tuesday that he would be out week-to-week with a lower-body injury. It is unfortunately the second straight season in which Colorado's highly touted 21-year-old will miss a significant chunk of the season due injury. He had five points (2G/3A) in his first 10 games of the season.
