Holtby is expected to start Thursday vs. the Jets.

Holtby stopped 43 of 45 shots in the Capitals’ win over the Jets on Tuesday. It was a busy, but exceptional night for Holtby, who is expected to face Winnipeg again tonight. The 27-year-old is now 4-2-1 with a 2.13 GAA and .925 SV% in seven starts to kick off 2016-17 and should be trusted again tonight.

Holtby stopped 21 of 22 shots in the Capitals’ win in Calgary on Sunday. The win was Holtby’s third of the season and snapped a brief two-game losing streak. He finished October with a 2.15 GAA and .917 SV%, placing him firmly among the top netminders in fantasy hockey. Tonight he faces a Winnipeg team that is 3-3-0 on home ice this season.

Holtby allowed four goals on 29 shots in the Capitals loss in Edmonton on Wednesday. Holtby has lost two in a row and has won just two of his first five starts with a 2.38 GAA and .910 SV% and tonight he will face a Flames team that has won three in a row. In addition to a nice little winning streak, Calgary ranks seventh in the NHL in scoring (3.22 GF/PG).

Holtby allowed three goals on 25 shots in the Capitals loss to the Rangers on Saturday. Holtby has won two of his four starts while posting a 1.98 GAA and .924 SV%. Holtby is one of the best fantasy options on any given night, but tonight he takes on the 5-1-0 Oilers who are averaging 3.83 goals per game in the first two weeks of the season.

Holtby allowed two goals on 28 shots in the Capitals win in Florida on Thursday. Holtby has been great to start the season, going 2-0-1 while only allowing a combined five goals on 80 shots (.938 SV%). Holtby was 3-2-0 with a 3.48 GAA and .876 SV% in five starts against the Rangers last year. Tonight he will go head-to-head with Henrik Lundqvist.

Holtby allowed a single goal on 23 shots in the Capitals’ win over the Islanders last Saturday. Philipp Grubauer got the nod on Tuesday, so Holtby comes into tonight’s matchup with the Panthers well rested. Holtby has turned aside 49 of the 52 (.942 SV%) shots that he has faced in his first two starts.

Holtby allowed two goals on 30 shots in the Capitals’ shootout loss to the Penguins on Thursday. Holtby played very well in his first start of the season, but gave up three shootout goals on four attempts. Holtby is one of fantasy’s best goalies and should be active whenever he starts. Tonight he gets the nod against an Islanders team that he was 3-0-1 with a 2.19 GAA and .918 SV% against a season ago.

Holtby enters 2016-17 as the reigning Vezina Trophy winner. Over the last two seasons he leads the NHL in wins (89) and is tied for fourth in both GAA (2.21) and SV% (.923). Holtby plays behind one of the most powerful offences in the NHL, which gives him an opportunity to win 40 games again this year. Tonight his season starts against the reigning Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins. Holtby was 2-2-1 with a 2.90 GAA and .913 SV% against the Pens last year.

Holtby allowed two goals on 35 shots in the Capitals loss to the Penguins in Game 2. He has faced a combined 80 shots through the first two games of this series, turning aside 75 (.938 SV%) of them. Overall, his 5-3 record is not reflective of his 1.24 GAA and .957 SV% through eight playoff starts. He continues to be a force in the Capitals crease, but now Washington needs to find a way to slow down the Penguins offensive attack.

Holtby was excellent in Game 2, stopping 41 of 42 shots in the Capitals’ 4-1 win. Holtby has enjoyed an excellent start to the playoffs, stopping 60 of the first 61 shots (.984 SV%) that Philly has fired his way. Tonight he will look to give the Capitals a commanding 3-0 series lead in Philadelphia—the 26-year-old was 23-6-4 with a 2.25 GAA and .921 SV% on the road this year.

Holtby closed out the season losing three of his last five starts, but it was an outstanding year for the 26-year-old, who tied Martin Brodeur for the most wins in a single season with 48. He only had nine regulation losses all year and posted a great 2.20 GAA and .922 SV% in 66 starts. He started four games against the Flyers and went 2-0-2 with a 2.68 GAA and .926 SV% in those contests.
