Gionta has picked up one goal in one game with Rochester (AHL) this season and appeared in the Olympics wth Team U.S.A. but will make his season debut on the third line and second power-play unit tonight. The 39-year-old veteran had 15 goals and 20 assist (35 points) in 82 games with the Sabres last season.
Gionta missed the first three games of the season with a lower-body injury, but will play tonight in Florida. Gionta is expected to start the game on a line with Jack Eichel and Evander Kane.
