Boeser is dealing with a groin injury and will come out of the Canucks lineup in Detroit. Boeser is day-to-day and will be replaced by Jake Virtanen on the top-line. Monitor his status heading into Thursday’s game in Boston.
Brock Boeser News
Boeser missed the last two games with a groin injury, but is expected to play tonight vs. the Penguins. Boeser skated on the top line with Elias Pettersson and Nikolay Goldobin at the morning skate and returns to the lineup with six points (2G / 4A) in nine games.
Boeser missed Wednesday’s game in Vegas with a groin injury that has been bothering him for a few games. The Canucks likely kept him out last night because of their back-to-back. Head coach Travis Green expects to get Boeser back tonight, which would be huge after Sven Baertschi, Alex Edler and Chris Tanev all went down with injuries last night.
Boeser missed Tuesday’s practice, but was on the ice for this morning’s gameday skate. Boeser was officially listed as “questionable” for tonight’s game, so monitor his stats as the Canucks hit the ice for warmups at 9:30pm ET.
Boeser missed Tuesday’s practice with a groin injury that has been bothering him. Boeser will travel on the Canucks brief two-game road-trip, but is questionable for Wednesday’s game in Vegas. Head coach Travis Green said that the Canucks will “know more tomorrow” so check back in on Wednesday afternoon.
Boeser’s injury is terrible news for the Canucks. Vancouver recalled Darren Archibald from the AHL, which suggests that Boeser could miss their upcoming back-to-back (Wed. @ VGK/Thu. @ ARI). With Boeser not on the ice, Brendan Leipsic was skating on Vancouver’s top line on Tuesday.
It looks like Boeser’s amazing rookie season is going to be cut short after he fractured his back late in Monday’s win over the Islanders. If this does wrap up his season, Boeser finishes the campaign with 29 goals and 26 assists (55 points) in 62 games.
It has been a crazy 48 hours for Boeser as it’s gone from looking like he’d be out for a lengthy period of time to a game-time decision tonight. Boeser is the clear offensive leader of the Canucks so they definitely want to see him in the lineup tonight. Monitor his status when the Canucks hit the ice for warmups (9:30 p.m. ET).
The Canucks got great news on Monday after a CT scan revealed no structural damage on Boeser’s foot. Boeser is dealing with a bone bruise and is “more day-to-day than week-to-week” according GM Jim Benning. Boeser suffered the injury while blocking a Mark Giordano shot on Sunday and is not expected to play Tuesday vs. the Canadiens.
Boeser missed Monday’s game with a foot contusion, but it looks like he could return tonight vs. the Devils. The rookie winger has had a good start to the season, posting two goals and seven assists (nine points) in his first eight games of the season. Look for him to replace Jayson Megna in the lineup if he plays.
Boeser is dealing with a foot contusion and will be held out of the lineup tonight. Despite missing this game, head coach Travis Green expect him to return either Wednesday or by the weekend at the latest. Jayson Megna will draw in for Boeser.
After playing great in the preseason, Boeser inexplicably served as a healthy scratch in the first two games of the season. Instead, the Canucks elected to give pugilist Derek Dorsett nearly 16 minutes per game in those contests, so expect Boeser to step into a top-9 role tonight.
Boeser had an excellent preseason and was an early favourite for rookie of the year, but he will have a tough time doing so if he can’t get into the lineup. The Canucks won their season opener vs. the Oilers, so they’ll roll with the same lineup tonight vs. the Senators—which means Jake Virtanen in, Boeser out.
