Suess has three goals, seven assists and 35 PIMs through 22 games with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) prior to his promotion to the Sharks. The 28-year-old has played in four NHL games before this season but has yet to pick up his first career point.
Suess was a fifth-round pick in 2014 and has appeared in just four NHL games since. Three of those games came in 2022 but he spent most of the season in the AHL, where he had 14 goals and 14 assists (28 points) in 46 games. He'll likely report to the AHL to start 2022-23.
Suess has scored 13 goals with 13 assists (26 points) in 54 AHL games this season. Suess' recall is likely related to Patrik Laine getting hurt on Thursday, suggesting Laine won't be available for Saturday's game in Edmonton.
