The Islanders have acquired Calum Ritchie, Oliver Kylington, a 1st round pick in 2026 or 2027, and a conditional 2028 3rd Round Pick from the Avalanche for Brock Nelson and William Dufour.

The Avalanche have reassigned Ritchie to Oshawa (OHL).
The 27th overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, Ritchie will return to Oshawa after registering one goal and no assists in seven games with the Avalanche. Ritchie will play an integral role in his final OHL season with the Generals and is likely to play on Team Canada at the upcoming World Juniors.
Colorado has signed Calum Ritchie to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Ritchie was the No.27 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. The 19-year-old forward had 80 points (28G / 52A) in 50 games with the Oshawa Generals (OHL) last season and added another 30 points (8G / 22A) in 21 playoff games.
