Hutton went 2-2-0 with a 1.81 GAA, .946 SV% and one shutout, bringing his season total to 6-3-0 with a 1.68 GAA, .946 SV% and one shutout. He makes for a solid spot-start option tonight as he goes head-to-head with Keith Kinkaid.

Hutton missed some time with a lower-body injury and tonight he will make his first start since December 1st. Head coach Mike Yeo said that Hutton and Jake Allen would split this weekend’s back-to-back set so Hutton will start at home and Allen will start in Winnipeg. Hutton is 1-2-0 with a 2.10 GAA and .920 SV% in limited action at Scottrade Center this season.

Hutton stopped 26 of 27 shots in the Blues’ win in Carolina on October 27th. Jake Allen has seen the majority of the work, but Hutton has been excellent in three starts, going 3-0-0 with a 1.67 GAA and .950 SV%. He is a great spot-start option tonight with the last placed Arizona Coyotes in town.

Hutton allowed three goals on 41 shots in the Blues win in Colorado on October 19th. Hutton has won each of his first two starts while stopping 70 of the 74 shots (.946 SV%) that he has faced. Hutton is one of the best spot-start options in the league, but draws a fairly tough matchup tonight in Carolina.

Jake Allen started the first three games of the season, but Hutton will start the second game of the Blues back-to-back tonight in New York. Last year, the 31-year-old backup went 13-8-2 with a 2.39 GAA, .913 SV% and four shutouts. He has been one of the better backups over the years but his first start comes against a Rangers team averaging 3.00 goals per game so far.
