Wagner has been a healthy scratch since Game 5 vs. Toronto but will replace Karson Kuhlman in Game 1 vs. Columbus. Wagner, who is an effective fourth liner, had no points and just five shots in five games against the Maple Leafs.
Wagner will get the night off as he rests his lower-body injury, so Zach Senyshyn will draw in and make his NHL debut vs. the Wild.

Wagner is a versatile fourth-line forward who can play the wing and centre, but has picked up just 15 points (6G / 9A) in 64 games with the Ducks this season. He should fit in on the Islanders fourth line as well.
Wagner, 25, didn’t play for the Ducks on Saturday, but went to San Diego for Sunday’s game and picked up a goal and two assists. He returns to Anaheim, where he has two goals in 19 games this season.
Wagner, 24, was a fifth round pick of the Ducks in 2010 and was with the Ducks’ organization from 2012-16 before being claimed off of waivers by the Avalanche in October. He now returns to Anaheim, where he will head to Norfolk (AHL).
