Eakin has not appeared in a game this season thanks to an offseason knee injury, but he has been skating and could be ready to make his season debut on Thursday. Monitor Eakin’s status during the Stars’ morning skate on Thursday morning.
Eakin’s original timetable was 5-to-6 weeks and today would mark the five-week mark, so he is behind schedule. Don’t expect to see Eakin until the middle of November. The Stars are really dinged up, so Eakin’s return will be very important.
Eakin suffered a knee injury in Stars’ practice last Friday and will miss the first month of the regular season. Injuries are starting to mount for Dallas, but Eakin is expected to miss the most amount of time. Look for Mattias Janmark to shift to centre on their third line while Eakin is out.
Eakin was a late scratch for disciplinary reason. There is no word on what Eakin did to warrant being a healthy scratch, but Brett Ritchie will be in the lineup for the Stars pivot.

If Eakin gets moved up that should certainly help him produce and makes him a nice one-day fantasy league option.
