Goloubef was hurt in the morning skate, so Christian Jaros was recalled from Belleville to replace him on Friday. Goloubef is day-to-day.
Goloubef will be playing in his first NHL game since March 14th. The 29-year-old, who has 23 points (2G / 21A) in 134 career NHL games, will replace Erik Brannstrom to get him some playing time.
Goloubef appeared in just five games with Ottawa this season, spending most of the year in the AHL, where he had 12 points 3G / 9A) in 30 games. Goloubef is expected to start the 2020 season with Belleville.
Goloubef has been playing with Stockton (AHL) on an AHL contract but has inked an NHL deal to provide the Flames with some extra blueline depth. The 28-year-old has played well, picking up seven goals and 10 assists (17 points) in 34 games with the Heat.
Goloubef, 27, was acquired from Columbus earlier in the season and has picked up just one assist in two games with San Antonio since the trade. Prior to the deal he had seven points (2G / 5A) in 16 games with Cleveland (AHL) and his call-up could be a lengthy one with Erik Johnson sidelined for 6-8 weeks.
Goloubef has missed the first two games of the year with an oblique injury, but his return to practice on Tuesday suggests that he is nearing a return to the Blue Jackets’ lineup. He would likely take Dalton Prout’s spot in the lineup.
Goloubef has not played since November 20th because of a broken jaw, but will be back in the lineup on Tuesday when the Blue Jackets take on the Wild. Goloubef has one goal and four assists in 16 games this season.
