Sceviour was in Oilers’ training camp on a PTO but earned a one-year deal and could be in the opening night lineup on Wednesday. Sceviour had five goals and five assists (10 points) in 46 games with the Penguins in 2020-21.
A few days after Sidney Crosby came off of the COVID-19 reserve list, Sceviour has been added and will not be available for Saturday's afternoon tilt vs. the Flyers.
Sceviour is 31-years-old and has one-year left on a deal that pays him $1.2 million. With so many high-priced assets up-and-down the Penguins lineup, Sceviour is a cheap option to replace Patrick Marleau in their bottom-6 in 2021. With a career-high of 26 points, Sceviour's ceiling is quite low but he's a hard-working winger that will likely be reunited with his former Panthers' teammate Jared McCann.
Sceviour, who is on injured reserve, broke a bone near his wrist while blocking a shot in Washington and will be “out for a bit” according to Panthers head coach Bob Boughner.
The 28-year old Sceviour has just 14 points in 46 games with the Panthers this season, but is second on the team in shorthanded ice time (111:45).
Sceviour has missed the last five contests with an upper-body injury, but will return tonight vs. the Rangers. In six games this season, Sceviour has scored one goal with one assist. He will skate on the fourth line with Derek MacKenzie and Michael Haley tonight—limiting his fantasy value.
Sceviour suffered and upper-body injury in the Panthers’ win in Washington on Saturday, lasting just 3:40 TOI. Sceviour was held off of the ice this morning and is expected to be replaced by Connor Brickley tomorrow.
Sceviour will miss his second straight game with an "minor shoulder” injury. Sceviour is listed as day-to-day and could be ready for the Panthers’ back-to-back on Friday and Saturday.
Sceviour, 27, has been with the Stars since he was drafted 112th overall in 2007. During that time he has amassed 62 points (28G / 34A) in 170 career NHL games and he’ll bring that experience to the Panthers’ bottom-6 in 2016-17.
Sceviour has scored three goals with one assist in eight games with the Stars this season. While in Texas he has recorded 32 goals and 31 assists (63 points) in 54 games. His 32 goals leads the AHL while 63 points sits second on Texas and third in the AHL. He could stay with the Stars for awhile with Rich Peverley's future uncertain right now.
Sceviour, 24, has registered four points (3G / 1A) and a plus-2 rating in eight games with Dallas this season. He scored his first career NHL goal on December 14, 2013 at Winnipeg and two of his three goals have been game-winners. The 6-foot, 200-pound forward leads the AHL with 21 goals and ranks second on Texas with 35 points (21G / 14A) in 29 games.

Sceviour could contribute to the Stars as a two-way forward capable of scoring on the third line. " Last season he finished third in scoring for the Texas Stars of the AHL with 41 points (16 goals, 25 assists) in 77 games while playing in all situations, including penalty kill and power play." Not a reason to roster now but a name to keep in mind should the Stars surprise this season.
