Connor Bunnaman News
Travis Konecny was moved to the COVID-19 protocol list on Wednesday and it looks like Bunnaman will take his spot in the lineup on Thursday. Bunnaman, who has six points (4G / 2A) in 24 AHL games this season, will likely be promoted to the active roster later today.
Bunnaman will replace Max Willman, who was sent back to the AHL this morning. Bunnaman has scored just one goal with one assist in 16 AHL games this season.
Bunnaman may be a casualty of the Flyers moves on Monday. Philadelphia added two veteran centres in Derek Grant and Nate Thompson, likely forcing Bunnaman to the AHL for the foreseeable future. The 21-year-old has two points (1G / 1A) in 21 NHL games and five points (4G / 1A) inn 24 AHL games this season.
Bunnaman played in five games with the Flyers before the bye week, scoring one goal with one assist but went to the AHL over the break.
Bunnaman will be the latest Phantom to get a shot to stick on the Flyers fourth line. Recalling Bunnaman will allow Scott Laughton to move back to the wing, where head coach Alain Vigneault thinks he "best helps the team." Bunnaman has four goals and one assist (five points) in 21 AHL games this season.
Bunnaman averaged 9:35 TOI/gm while appearing in four of the Flyers first five games. He failed to record a point but was able to get a taste of the NHL. The first fourth-round pick returns to the AHL, where he had 19 goals and 13 assists (32 points) in 62 games a season ago.
Bunnaman has appeared in all three games this season but will come out of the lineup with Chris Stewart set to make his Flyers debut. Bunnaman has no points and just three shots while averaging 9:01 TOI/gm.
