Carcillo, 30, had eight points (4G / 4A) in 39 games with the Blackhawks last season. He finished his career with 100 points (48G / 52A) and 1233 PIMS in 429 games with the Coyotes, Flyers, Blackhawks, Kings and Rangers. He was also a two-time Stanley Cup Champion (2013 & 2015).
Dan Carcillo News
Carcillo served his six-game suspension and was eligible to return on Tuesday, but was a healthy scratch. He will get back into the lineup tonight and ironically it will be against the Jets, the team he last faced and was suspended for cross-checking Mathieu Perreault. Joakim Nordstrom will come out to make room for Carcillo.
Carcillo injured Perreault’s left arm with a cross-check on Friday. He has been suspended five games, but he served the first game of that suspension on Sunday vs. Dallas. He is eligible to return to the lineup on Tuesday, February 3rd in Minnesota. His second game back will be in Winnipeg.
Coach Joel Quenneville was not sure about the rule on keeping Carcillo out of tonight's lineup pending a hearing. Either way, he will not play tonight and will be replaced by Joakim Nordstrom.
The play injured Perreault and the in-person hearing, means that Carcillo, a repeat offender, is looking at a suspension of five-plus games. His potential suspension will mean that Joakim Nordstrom will get back into the lineup.
Carcillo, who suffered a right-knee injury against the St. Louis Blues on October 26, has skated twice now and is feeling much better. “We’ll see if he gets in before we go on the trip or not. That could be Sunday’s decision,” said coach Quenneville. It’s the third time in his two stints with the Blackhawks that Carcillo has suffered a knee injury.
Carcillo suffered the knee injury in the Blackhawks loss to the Blues last night. With Carcillo out, Jeremy Morin will get back into the lineup tonight vs. the Senators. Expect Carcillo back in late November.
Carcillo was originally given an automatic 10-game suspension for making contact with an official in game three versus the Canadiens. The reduction of the suspension to six games means that Carcillo is eligible to return to the Rangers' lineup by game four of the Stanley Cup Finals.
While teammate Derek Dorsett was fighting Canadiens forward Brandon Prust, Carcillo hit the arm of linesman Scott Driscoll while he was attempting to intervene. He was given a game misconduct at the time. A category 40 rule was applied to the violation. Carcillo received 10 games because the contact was not incidental. Had the officials deemed Carcillo was intending to injure the ref, he would have received a 20 game suspension. Should this series go the distance, Carcillo would eligible to return in a possible game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but as a pending Unrestricted Free Agent (UFA), he has likely played his last game in a Rangers uniform.
After losing Derek Dorsett to a broken fibula last night, the Rangers make what coach Alain Vigneault called a "low-risk" move by bringing in another fourth-liner in. Carcillo has appeared in 26 games with the Kings this season, he has one goal, one assist, a minus-1 rating and 57 PIMs.
Carcillo is not expected to have any fantasy relevance.
Carcillo draws into the lineup on the second line while Kruger moves down to the 4th and Bollig hits the press box
Carcillo was playing on the Hawks first line, which could have made him a fantasy option in deep leagues, but looks like he is going to miss sometime. Keep an eye on who they move up to the first line, playing with Toews increases anyones fantasy value.
Although Carcillo's season was cut short, he will have another opportunity to thrive in Chicago. Nice little deal for both sides.
Carcillo is done for the season and safe to drop in all single-season formats.
Safe to drop Carcillo if you haven't already
Carcillo didn't have much fantasy relevance before his injury.
Carcillo also has a serious injury and should miss a significant amount of time.
Carcillo is not only indefinitely suspended but also severely injured. Don't expect to see him on the ice any time soon.
Sounds like Carbomb will have a lengthy suspension. In-person hearings are a minimum of five games.
