Carcillo will return to the Blackhawks lineup on Friday.

Carcillo served his six-game suspension and was eligible to return on Tuesday, but was a healthy scratch. He will get back into the lineup tonight and ironically it will be against the Jets, the team he last faced and was suspended for cross-checking Mathieu Perreault. Joakim Nordstrom will come out to make room for Carcillo.

The NHL has suspended Daniel Carcillo for six games for his cross-check on Mathieu Perreault.

Carcillo injured Perreault’s left arm with a cross-check on Friday. He has been suspended five games, but he served the first game of that suspension on Sunday vs. Dallas. He is eligible to return to the lineup on Tuesday, February 3rd in Minnesota. His second game back will be in Winnipeg.

Carcillo has been offered an in-person hearing for his cross-check on Mathieu Perreault on Friday.

The play injured Perreault and the in-person hearing, means that Carcillo, a repeat offender, is looking at a suspension of five-plus games. His potential suspension will mean that Joakim Nordstrom will get back into the lineup.

Carcillo (knee) could play as early as Sunday but will definitely be on the upcoming road-trip.

Carcillo, who suffered a right-knee injury against the St. Louis Blues on October 26, has skated twice now and is feeling much better. “We’ll see if he gets in before we go on the trip or not. That could be Sunday’s decision,” said coach Quenneville. It’s the third time in his two stints with the Blackhawks that Carcillo has suffered a knee injury.

Carcillo has had his suspension reduced from 10 games to six by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.

Carcillo was originally given an automatic 10-game suspension for making contact with an official in game three versus the Canadiens. The reduction of the suspension to six games means that Carcillo is eligible to return to the Rangers' lineup by game four of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Carcillo has been suspended for 10 games by the NHL for making contact with an official in the first period of Game 3.

While teammate Derek Dorsett was fighting Canadiens forward Brandon Prust, Carcillo hit the arm of linesman Scott Driscoll while he was attempting to intervene. He was given a game misconduct at the time. A category 40 rule was applied to the violation. Carcillo received 10 games because the contact was not incidental. Had the officials deemed Carcillo was intending to injure the ref, he would have received a 20 game suspension. Should this series go the distance, Carcillo would eligible to return in a possible game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals, but as a pending Unrestricted Free Agent (UFA), he has likely played his last game in a Rangers uniform.

The Rangers have acquired Dan Carcillo from the Kings in exchange for a 7th round pick.

After losing Derek Dorsett to a broken fibula last night, the Rangers make what coach Alain Vigneault called a "low-risk" move by bringing in another fourth-liner in. Carcillo has appeared in 26 games with the Kings this season, he has one goal, one assist, a minus-1 rating and 57 PIMs.

Carcillo is “going to miss some time,” coach Joel Queneville said, after suffering a lower-body injury.

Carcillo was playing on the Hawks first line, which could have made him a fantasy option in deep leagues, but looks like he is going to miss sometime. Keep an eye on who they move up to the first line, playing with Toews increases anyones fantasy value.

The Blackhawks agreed to terms with Carcillo on a two-year contract extension on Monday. The 26-year-old forward had 11 points and 82 penalty minutes in 28 regular-season games.

Although Carcillo's season was cut short, he will have another opportunity to thrive in Chicago. Nice little deal for both sides.
