Derek Morris News

Morris could return Tuesday, has been a healthy scratch for the last three games.

Morris was a minus-5 in his last two games, and rode the pine behind some younger defenesmen because of it. There is no official word whether or not he will be back in the lineup tonight, but head coach Dave Tippett said he is "an option" tonight.

Morris (upper-body) participated in practice on Monday.

Monday was his first practice since getting injured on February 7 vs. Chicago. The Olympic break allowed Morris to miss only game while not skating over a two week span. His return to the ice is a good sign, but there is no word whether or not he will suit up on Thursday.

Morris (personal) will return to Coyotes' blueline tonight.

Morris missed the last five games due to a personal matter. He returned to the team last Friday but was held out of the last two contests so he could regain his legs. With Zbynek Michalek on IR Morris will slide into the lineup vs. the Maple Leafs.

Morris (personal) is back with the Coyotes today.

Morris missed the last three games because of a personal matter but should be back in the lineup tonight vs. the Hurricanes. I would expect Connor Murphy to come out of the lineup if he plays, but we won't know until later. Morris has four goals and nine assists in 21 games. He is owned in 9% of Yahoo! leagues, so he is likely available in your league and is a solid D option in standard leagues.

The Coyotes expect to have Derek Morris (personal) back tomorrow which means he should play on Saturday against Carolina.

Morris will miss his third consecutive game tonight, but the Coyotes should have all six of their top-6 back intact on Saturday. Phoenix has had D-men shuffled in and out of the lineup all season long.

Coyotes head coach Dave Tippet says he hopes to have Morris (personal) back later this week.

Morris missed Friday's game against the Canucks due to a family matter and won't suit up on Tuesday against the Avalanche either. The Coyotes next game would be Thursday, so Morris could be back in Phoenix when they take on the Islanders.

Morris (lower-body) is expected to play on Thursday.

Morris has missed the last five games, but skated with the team this morning suggesting that he is good-to-go for Thursday. Phoenix is dealing with multiple injuries on defines so the return of Morris would certainly help stabilize their blueline.

Morris (lower-body) probably won't play tonight says Coyotes head coach Dave Tippet.

Morris will miss his fifth straight game after being injured on November 5 vs. Vancouver. Phoenix also appear to be without Zbynek Michalek tonight so they have recalled Connor Murphy. The Coyotes don't play again until Thursday, so Morris should be good to go vs. Colorado.

Morris (lower-body) was skating with David Rundblad on the Coyotes extra pair at the morning skate.

Skating on the extra pair suggests that Morris is not ready to return tonight, although he has not officially been ruled out. If he doesn't play tonight it will be the fourth straight game that Morris has missed. Consider him a game-time decision.

The Coyotes have placed Derek Morris (lower-body) on IR.

Morris had already been ruled out for tonight's contest, but the move to IR allowed the Coyotes to recall Chris Brown without sending anyone down. Morris is eligible to return as soon as tomorrow, so he could be in the lineup on Thursday vs. Chicago.

Morris (lower-body) is questionable for Saturday.

Morris was injured in Tuesday's contest with the Canucks and missed Wednesday vs. Anaheim. Morris, like many of the other Coyotes defenseman has been off to a strong start. He has four goals and six assists (10 points) in 14 games. Monitor his status following Saturday's morning skate.

Morris and Klinkhammer won't play tonight. Morris is still battling a lower-body injury. Klinkhammer has a concussion, Tippett said.

Morris played in the Coyotes last game but the lower-body injury that kept him out of the previous game is still bothering him. Michael Stone will replace Morris on the back-end.
