Engelland had 12 points (2G / 10A) in 74 games in his second season with the Golden Knights. While his point totals aren’t impressive, Engelland led Vegas in blocked shots (152), was fourth in hits (165) and ranked first among defensemen in SH TOI/GP (3:12). Engelland brings a reliable defensive game to the Vegas top-4 and was a priority for them this offseason.





Engelland has missed the last three games, but will replace Brad Hunt in the lineup on Friday. Engelland is expected to skate alongside Shea Theodore and re-enters the lineup with no points, a minus-4 rating and seven shots in six games this season.

Engelland has missed the last two games with an undisclosed injury, but has been moved to IR to open up a roster spot to activate Alex Tuch (lower-body). Despite moving to IR, Engelland is reportedly close to a return to the lineup and is eligible to be activated whenever he is 100 percent.

Engelland is not expected to play Tuesday vs. the Sabres because of an undisclosed injury. With Engelland out, Brad Hunt is expected to draw into the Golden Knights lineup and skate on the third pair with Colin Miller.

The Penguins will have to recall a defenseman to fill the void that will be left by Engelland's potential suspension.
