Dustin Brown News
Brown has been sidelined by an upper-body injury since March 12th but is set to replace Carl Grundstrom in the bottom-6 on Tuesday. Brown has scored just eight goals with 17 assists (25 points) in 57 games this season.
Brown cleared COVID-19 protocol on Monday and skated on the third line with Rasmus Kupari and Lias Andersson on Wednesday. Brown heads into Thursday with 12 points (4G / 8A) in 30 games this season.
Both Brown and Olli Maatta were added to the COVID protocol list on Sunday, joining Quinton Byfield, Phillip Danault and Cal Petersen, who were already on the list.
Brown suffered an update-body injury earlier in the year and the Kings said he will be shut down for the rest of the season after "consultation with team medical staff." Look for Alex Iafallo to move back up to the top line with Brown out.
Brown has missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but head coach Todd McLellan said that there's a "good chance" Brown will play Friday. Brown leads all Kings with 13 goals in 26 games this season.
Brown has missed the last four games with pneumonia but will play tonight vs. the Blue Jackets. Tyler Toffoli has played well since Brown got sick, so he’ll stay on the top line and Brown will skate with Jeff Carter. He has eight goals and 11 assists (19 points) in 39 games this season.
Brown comes out of the Christmas break sick and will not play in the Kings back-to-back on Friday/Saturday. With Brown out, Martin Frk has been called up from the AHL but it's unclear who will play with Anze Kopitar.
Brown missed the Kings' morning skate and is not feeling 100 percent, so the Kings have listed him as a game-time decision. Matt Luff will replace Brown in the lineup if he can't play.
Brown is ready to return from a broken finger that he suffered in the preseason but he has to wait until Sunday because he is on LTIR. Brown said he would have been back on Tuesday if it wasn’t for LTIR, but fantasy owners will have to wait one more game before getting the rugged winger in their lineup.
The belief is that Brown will accompany the Kings on their road-trip and play Sunday in New York when he is first eligible to be activated. The Kings have struggled without Brown in the lineup and his return would bring some offence and physicality to the top-6.
Brown was injured in the Kings’ final preseason game after being hit by a shot from teammate Anze Kopitar. Brown left the game and did not return for the third period. With Brown out, the Kings have a hole next to Kopitar on the top-line, a spot that will likely be filled by Ilya Kovalchuk.
Brown was given a match penalty for the hit and it will cost him another game—Tuesday in Carolina—so he will be back in the lineup in Pittsburgh on Thursday. Trevor Lewis or Michael Amadio will replace Brown on Tuesday.
Brown was injured in Saturday's shutout win over the Panthers. Despite not immediately traveling with the team to Philadelphia, Brown joined the team on Sunday and visited with doctors Monday morning. Being at the morning skate suggests he got good news from the docs and should be in the lineup tonight vs. the Flyers.
