The Maple Leafs have signed Garrett Wilson to a one-year contract.

Wilson split the 2019 between Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL) and Pittsburgh (NHL). The 28-year-old had two goals and six assists (eight points) in 50 games with the Penguins—the first eight points of his NHL career (34 previous games with the Panthers). Wilson will start next year in the AHL.

Wilson had just two assists in 14 games with the Penguins earlier this season but has found success at the AHL-level, collecting eight goals and 10 assists in 18 games. Wilson has been called-up because Zach Aston-Reese went on IR on Wednesday.

Wilson, 25, split his 2015-16 season between the AHL and NHL. Wilson, a former fourth round pick (107 overall in 2009), had no points in 29 games with the Panthers despite posting 20 points (7G / 13A) in 37 games with Portland (AHL). Look for him to start the 2016-17 season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

The Panthers selected Wilson, 23, in the fourth-round (107th overall) in 2009. He has split the last three seasons between the San Antonio Rampage (AHL) and Cincinnati Cyclones (ECHL). He had 12 goals and 12 assists in 60 games before being recalled. He will skate on the fourth line with Scott Gomez and Krys Barch.

Wilson, 23, has appeared in 60 games for San Antonio this season, collecting 24 points (12G / 12A) and 45 penalty minutes. He has played in 97 career AHL game over three seasons with the Rampage (2011-14), recording 30 points (16G / 14A) and 66 penalty minutes. Wilson has yet to appear in an NHL game.
