Lapierre was a surprise scratch on Thursday, with the Capitals not announcing his absence prior to warmups. Bogdan Trineyev will play in his place.

With Pierre-Luc Dubois sidelined, day-to-day with a lower-body injury, Lapierre will draw back into Washington's lineup as his replacement. The 23-year-old Lapierre is averaging 10:03 time-on-ice and has zero points through two games this season. He will suit up on a line with Sonny Milano and Ryan Leonard.


Lapierre began the 2024-25 season with the Capitals but ultimately split his time between the AHL and NHL. During his time with the Capitals, Lapierre had eight assists in 27 games. He should be back with the Capitals as the No.3 centre to start 2025-26.


Lapierre was a surprise scratch, with his absence not being announced prior to warmups. Lapierre is yet to score a goal in 26 games this season.

Lapierre will be the odd-man out on Tuesday to make room for the return of Andrew Mangiapane, who missed Monday's game in Dallas with an illness. Lapierre is yet to score a goal in 24 games this season.

With Alex Ovechkin (lower body) week-to-week, Lapierre will draw into the Capitals lineup. The 22-year-old Lapierre has played 12 games this season, averaging 10:25 time-on-ice and scoring two points (0G / 2A).


Lars Eller will make his 2024-25 debut with the Capitals on Friday, resulting in Lapierre being a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old Lapierre is averaging 10:25 time-on-ice and has two points (0G / 2A) in 12 games this season.

With Michael Sgarbossa being reassigned to Hershey (AHL) and Lars Eller not expected to be ready to make his debut, Lapierre will likely re-enter the lineup on Wednesday. Lapierre is yet to score a goal but does have two assists in 11 games this season.



For the first time this season, Lapierre will be a healthy scratch. The 22-year-old Lapierre had an impact last season, scoring 22 points (8G / 14A) in 51 games, but has been held off the scoresheet in all seven contests so far this season.

With the news of TJ Oshie (lower body) out for an indefinite period, Hendrix Lapierre was recalled on Friday from Hershey (AHL) and is expected to join the lineup on Saturday. The 22-year-old centre has enjoyed a solid season in Hersey, with five goals, 17 points and six PIMs in 21 games played but returns to Washington where he also has seven points in 25 games during his previous call up.

Lapierre recorded an assist in 6:30 time-on-ice in his last contest but was a healthy scratch on Saturday and has subsequently been reassigned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL. The 21-year-old has seven points (2G / 5A) in 25 games this season.


Matthew Phillips will be a healthy scratch for the Capitals on Friday, allowing Hendrix Lapierre to re-enter the lineup. In his last game, Lapierre recorded an assist in 8:27 time-on-ice, snapping a five-game streak without a point.

With the debut of Max Pacioretty incoming Wednesday Hendrix Lapierre will be the odd man out of the Capitals' forward lines vs. New Jersey. The 21-year-old centre has been enjoying a successful first full season in Washington, with two goals, four assists, 18 SOG, and a -1 plus/minus.
