Previously, his career-best season was in 2021-21 when he scored 60 points (26G / 34A) in 81 games with the St. Louis Blues. Nicolas Roy (upper body) will also be out of the lineup as Cole Schwindt and Tanner Laczynski will draw in as their replacements.

Barbashev had 16 goals, 29 assists, 126 SOG, 42 PIMs and a +1 plus/minus through 82 games in 2022-23 with Vegas and St. Louis and has signed Ivan Barbashev to a five-year, $25 Million contract extension ($5,000,000 AAV). The 27-year-old centre has collected 84 goals, 194 point and 134 PIMs through 433 NHL games played.

Barbashev was traded from St. Louis to Vegas over the weekend and will make his Golden Knights debut Monday as they take on Colorado. The 27-year-old had 10 goals, 19 assists, 91 SOG, 36 PIMs and a -10 plus/minus through 59 games with the Blues prior to the trade.

Barbashev, who has been out since February 18th, is expected to replace Sammy Blais in the lineup and skate on the fourth line. Barbashev tallied two goals with four assists (six points) in 17 games before getting hurt.

Barbashev was hurt last Thursday vs. the Sharks and underwent surgery on Tuesday. Barbashev will be out for at least six weeks, sidelining him until early-to-mid April.

Barbashev had been playing well on the Blues top line but suffered a left ankle injury on Thursday. With Barbashev out for at least six weeks, Jordan Kyrou was on the top line in Friday's practice and Nathan Walker was promoted from Utica (AHL).

Barbashev left the bubble, presumably on Monday, to be with his wife for the birth of their first child. Depending on when he returns to the bubble, he'll need to quarantine and that makes him questionable for Sunday's game. Mackenzie MacEachern is expected to draw in for Barbashev on Thursday.

Barbashev missed the last two games with an upper-body issue but will play Saturday in San Jose. Barbashev has five goals and 10 assists (15 points) in 34 games this season.

Barbashev left Saturday's game vs. the Blackhawks in the third period and will not play vs. the Avalanche. With Barbashev out, Zach Sanford (upper-body) is expected to return to the lineup.

Barbashev had 14 goals and 12 assists (26 points) in 80 games in 2019. The 23-year-old also chipped in during the postseason, picking up six points (3G / 3A) in 25 games en route to winning the Stanley Cup. Barbashev is back but is buried on the depth chart behind Brayden Schenn, Ryan O’Reilly, and Tyler Bozak.

While Johansson was taking a shot, Barbashev caught him in the head with his shoulder and the NHL deemed it was worthy of a one-game suspension. Robert Thomas, if he’s healthy, will likely replace Barbashev in Game 6, but if he can’t play it will be Robby Fabbri.

Barbashev went to Chicago during the Blues bye week but returns to the St. Louis with five points (1G / 4A) in 17 games with the Blues this season. During his time in the AHL, he has 10 points (5G / 5A) in 20 games.

The Blues have the next six days off so Barbashev will head to the AHL to keep playing. Barbashev has split his time between the AHL and NHL this season, picking up five points (1G / 4A) with the Blues and eight points (4G / 4A) in 18 games with the Wolves.

Barbashev unsurprisingly cracked the Blues roster, but was surprisingly scratched in the first two contests. This afternoon he will replace Oskar Sundqvist as the third-line centre and will look to build off of the 12 points (5G / 7A) he had in 30 games with the Blues last season.
