Sanderson left the Senators' previous contest vs. Detroit on January 31st after just 4:49 TOI due to a lower-body injury and will be out Saturday as Ottawa plays Toronto. Sanderson suffered the injury towards the end of the first period of Wednesday's game and did not return. We should expect to receive an update on the injury and a possible timeline for his return following the conclusion of Wednesday's game.

Sanderson enjoyed a very successful rookie season in 2022-23 as he finished his inaugural campaign with four goals, 28 assists, 132 SOG, 12 PIMs, and a -6 plus/minus through 77 games played and has signed an eight-year, $64.4 million ($8,050,000 AAV) contract extension. The 21-year-old defenseman was Ottawa's 2020 1st round-pick (5th overall) and is expected to take a massive leap forward in his sophomore campaign.

Sanderson last played on February 11th due to an upper-body injury and has been activated off the injured reserve Thursday. The 20-year-old rookie has three goals, 18 assists, 85 SOG, six PIMs and a -3 plus/minus through 51 games prior to his injury.

Sanderson is set to miss his third straight game on Friday, and he's expected to be out until the Senators' back-to-back vs. the Red Wings on February 27th/28th. The 20-year-old has three goals, 21 points and a -3 plus/minus across 51 games in his rookie campaign.
