Jamie Langenbrunner News

Blues forward Jamie Langenbrunner, who missed his second game Tuesday night with the flu, was one of a few skaters on the ice Wednesday afternoon at the team's practice facility. Asked if he sweat out his sickness on the ice," Langenbrunner said: "I hope so."

Sounds like Langenbrunner will get back onto the ice shortly. The former New Jersey Devils captain has two goals and 12 points through his first 34 games in St. Louis.

But Langenbrunner showed up for training camp Sept. 16 and the right winger learned that he was on a line with David Backes at center. The duo showed enough in the preseason that they will open the season on a line with left winger Andy McDonald.

Langenbrunner will start the season on the team's top line, pushing Matt D'Agostini to the third. Last season, the Cloquet, Minnesota native scored nine goals and 32 points over 70 games. Over a full season he could return to the 50-point range.
