Kuokkanen has been out since February 7th but was activated from IR on Thursday and will be a game-time decision on Saturday. Andreas Johnsson is also a game-time decision and both could play.
Kuokkanen has been sidelined since February 7th but is set to return to the lineup on Tuesday. Kuokkanen, who has picked up 11 points (5G / 6A) in 43 games this season, will skate on the third line if he plays.
Kuokkanen was hit by a puck in Thursday's game and missed Friday's practice as a result. Officially, he's listed as a game-time decision for Saturday's afternoon tilt in Pittsburgh.
Kuokkanen has picked up three goals and three assists (six points) in four AHL games since being acquired from the Hurricanes at the trade deadline. It's not confirmed that Kuokkanen will make his debut tonight but he skated on the fourth line with Michael McLeod and Kevin Rooney in the morning skate.
Kuokkanen was the prospect Devils got back from Carolina in the Sami Vatanen trade. Since joining Binghamton, Kuokkanen has scored three goals with three assists (six points) in four games. Overall, that gives him 15 goals and 33 assists (48 points) in 56 AHL games this year. He has not registered a point in 11 career games.
Carolina selected Kuokkanen with the 43rd overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He's failed to register a point in his 11 career NHL games but has been a productive player in the AHL. Kuokkanen had 12 goals and 30 assists in 52 games this year with Carolina's AHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
Kuokkanen, 20, was a second-round pick (No.43 overall) in 2016 and appeared in four NHL games last season. Kuokkanen leads the Checkers in points with 27 (11G / 16A) in 26 games this season. He could make his season debut on Thursday with Micheal Ferland leaving Tuesday’s game.
Kuokkanen, 19, got into the lineup on Saturday but didn’t record a point in any of his four games with the Hurricanes. The 2016 second round pick (No.43 overall) will make his AHL debut this week; he turned pro this season after collecting 62 points (26G / 36A) in 60 games with London (OHL) last year.
