Iginla will be a free agent this summer, but adds some scoring depth to a Kings team that is pushing for a playoff spot. The veteran winger isn’t the player he once was, but will help the Kings’ power-play and could be rejuvenated playing with Anze Kopitar. He heads to Los Angeles with eight goals and 10 assists (18 points) in 61 games this season.
Jarome Iginla News
Iginla had 30 goals and 31 assists (61 points) with a plus-34 rating with the Bruins last season. It was Iginla's 12th 30-plus goal season and I'm sure the Bruins would have loved to bring him back, but were unable to because of cap issues. The Avs have locked him up until he is 40-years-old and they are hoping he has a few more 30 goal years left in him.
Iggy has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury, but he will play on Thursday vs. the Jets. He has 30 goals this season, so make sure he is in the lineup.
Iginla skated this morning which is a good sign that he could be back tonight. The Bruins have three games left in the regular season, and they likely want to get Iggy back in there for a few games, so they don't have to just throw him out there in the playoffs. Iginla has 30-plus goals for the 12th straight (full 82-game) season.
Bruins head coach Claude Julien said that Iginla could probably play, but is being given a maintenance day. It is sounding more and more like the B's are simply resting their veteran forward before the playoffs.
Iginla skated this morning, but left the ice prior to the rest of the team coming on. His absence at the morning skate suggests that he will miss a second straight game and makes it three out of the last four. Loui Eriksson will stay on the top line, where he has enjoyed success with Iggy out.
Iginla missed Wednesday's game with a lower-body injury, but played over 20 minutes on Thursday. His lower-body injury must have flared up, because it does not look like he will play this afternoon vs. the Flyers.
Iginla missed Wednesday's game against the Red Wings, but will be back in vs. the Maple Leafs tonight. Carl Soderberg is coming out for the birth of his child. Iginla has been on fire as of late. Iggy has 10 goals in his last 10 games and has a total of 30 goals and 61 points in 75 games this season.
Tonight will be the first game since 2007 that Iginla has missed due to injury. Jordan Caron will slide into the lineup for Iggy.
This comes as no surprise as Iginla was able to finish Saturday's game after injuring his hand in a fight with Ryan Kesler. Iggy will face his former team tonight having registered four goals and two assists in his last nine games.
Iginla injured his hand in a fight with Ryan Kesler on Saturday. He left the game briefly but did return to finish the game despite his hand looking very gruesome. Monitor his status during Tuesday's morning skate.
Things have come full circle for the 36-year-old forward after it was reported that he was originally traded to Boston last season but ended up in Pittsburgh. The six-foot-one, 207-pound Edmonton native scored 14 goals last season and 19 assists in 44 games. In 1,232 regular season contests, the six-time all-star has 530 goals and 1,106 points and is a plus-48.
Iginla will play even though he has yet to skate with his new team. Iginla will start on a line with James Neal and Evgeni Malkin, that is a lot of fire power.
However if he does play, we will update you.
The Penguins would prefer Iginla be able to practice with them once before participating in a game. Following Saturday's game against the Islanders, the Penguins have a scheduled off day on Sunday before practicing again Monday. They host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, which could mark Iginla's debut.
It sounds like Iginla could be on the right wing alongside Evgeni Malkin and James Neal will be moved over to the left side. However it is hard to believe that the Penguins won't put him next to Crosby, regardless of the success Kunitz and Dupuis have had this season. We aren't going to speculate. We'll see where he plays in his first game, which is likely going to be Saturday vs. the Islanders.
Initial were reports had Iginla going to the Bruins, but the deal was not finalized. The Penguins have now added Iginla, Brenden Morrow, and Douglas Murray prior to the deadline.
Tough night for Iginla owners but a move to a strong cup contender should only benefit your team for the rest of the season.
Iginla is expected to be ready for the start of the season. Monitor his status as Sunday approaches. If healthy he should be in your fantasy lineup.
