Ottawa added to its defensive depth on Monday by adding AHL veteran Jeremy Davies on a one-year, two-way contract. The 27-year-old has 23 NHL games under his belt but last appeared in the big league in 2022-23 with Buffalo for one game. In 2023-24 he had 12 goals and 35 points in 66 games played with Rochester (AHL).

Davies had 11 goals, 12 assists, 90 PIMs and a +4 plus/minus through 66 games with Rochester (AHL) in 2022-23 and has signed a one-year, two-way contract through the 2023-24 season. The 26-year-old defenseman has appeared in 23 NHL games picking up three assists since being drafted in the seventh round (192 overall) by the New Jersey Devils in 2016.
Davies had only played in the Sabres' previous game vs. Arizona, with 8:33 TOI and two PIMs but will head to the press box as a healthy scratch with Ilya Lyubushkin returning from a lower-body injury.
Davies will get his first call-up to Buffalo after seeing NHL time with Nashville in each of the last two seasons. In 22 career games played, the 25-year-old has three assists and 10 PIMs to go along with 24 SOG.
Davies appeared in six games with Nashville in 2022 but spent most of his time in Milwaukee (AHL). He had six goals and 25 assists (31 points) in 54 AHL games and will likely report to Rochester (AHL) to start 2022-23.
Davies had nine assists in nine AHL games before being promoted to the Predators in 2021. He picked up just one assist in his first 16 career NHL games and should be a fringe NHL blueliner for the Predators in 2021-22.
Davies was a seventh-round pick of the Devils in 2016 and is coming off of his Junior year at Northeastern University, where he had 36 points (8G / 28A) in 37 games.
