Gibson will be back between the pipes on Thursday after getting the tail-end of their back-to-back off on Sunday. Gibson was fantastic in his last start, allowing just two goals on 50 shots before eventually falling to the Kings in a shootout. It was easily one of the best starts of the season for Gibson, despite not securing the victory. He and the Ducks draw a very rare, favourable matchup on Thursday, as they find themselves as -130 favourites to pick up the win in San Jose.

Gibson has started the last three games, winning twice, and will return to the crease on Wednesday. In his last outing, Gibson was tremendous, saving 34 of 37 shots (.919 SV%) in a 4-3 win over the Buffalo Sabres. The Ducks enter action as slight -107 home favourites against a Columbus Blue Jackets team that played last night, losing 5-1 to the Los Angeles Kings.

Gibson will return to the Ducks' crease after an ugly relief appearance in their previous game in which he allowed five goals on 14 shots (.643 SV%) vs. Toronto. The 30-year-old is having a nearly identical season to his not-so-special 2022-23 campaign, as he has an 11-19-1 record, 3.07 GAA and a .899 SV%. He takes on Buffalo on the road Monday for a matinee showdown, who has won two of their last three games but are struggling to score as they are 21st in the NHL in goals per game (2.93).

It's unclear exactly when Gibson suffered the injury, as he was able to complete the second period but did not come out for the third. Lukas Dostal replaced him. We should expect to receive an update on Gibson's injury following the conclusion of Thursday's game.

Gibson will be back between the pipes for the Ducks when they travel to Ottawa on Thursday after Lukas Dostal got the nod in Tuesday's 5-0 defeat to the Canadiens. Gibson was forced to leave his last start on February 9th against the Oilers due to a lower-body injury, allowing two goals on 21 shots before giving way to Dostal. Gibson had been enjoying a nice stretch of form prior to the injury, posting a 2-0-1 record and a .919 SV% across his last four appearances. He'll be hard-pressed to come away with a victory on Thursday as the Ducks find themselves as +195 underdogs in Ottawa.

Head coach Greg Cronin did not have much of an update on Gibson's status post-game, only saying that he "cramped up or something.” Consider Gibson questionable for Tuesday's game in Montreal.

The Ducks make their return to the ice from the All-Star break on Friday night and will turn to John Gibson between the pipes. Gibson last played on January 31st, saving 26 of 28 shots (.929 SV%) in a 3-2 win over the San Jose Sharks. The 30-year-old Gibson has a tough task at hand as the Ducks are significant +236 road underdogs against a high-scoring Edmonton Oilers club that lost for the first time in 16 games on Tuesday against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Gibson will start for the third time in the last four games when the Ducks face off against the San Jose Sharks. Gibson allowed four goals on 44 shots (.909 SV%) in his last outing, a 4-3 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. The 30-year-old netminder has lost three of his last four (1-2-1), posting a .908 SV%. The Ducks enter action as -177 home favourites against a Sharks team that played last night and defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-0.

The Ducks will turn to Gibson for the 30th time this season when they travel to Dallas on Thursday. Gibson was solid his last time out, stopping 28 of the 30 shots he faced enroute to a 4-2 victory over the Sabres on Tuesday. The effort helped raise his SV% to an even .900 on the year. He'll draw a much tougher assignment on Thursday, however, and may have a hard time avoiding a league-leading 20th loss of the season with the Ducks being +260 underdogs in Dallas.

Gibson will start for the fourth time in the last five games when the Ducks host the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday evening. The Ducks have been terrible lately, losing 10 of 12 (2-9-1), paralleled by poor play from Gibson, as he has an ugly .858 SV% in his last six contests (1-5-0). The Ducks are +145 home underdogs against a Sabres club that is expected to welcome Jeff Skinner back into the lineup.

Gibson will look to rebound after allowing 15 combined goals in his last three starts (0-3-0) but will be hard-pressed to do so in a matchup against the Florida Panthers, who are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games. Gibson has a 3.10 GAA and .900 SV% in 26 games this season (7-17-0).

Gibson presumably suffered the injury at some point in the second period. He finished the second frame but did not make it out for the start of the third. Lukas Dostal will play out the remainder of the game. We should expect to receive an update on Gibson's injury and a possible timeline for his return following the completion of Thursday's game.

Gibson took the loss his last time out, allowing three goals on 27 shots as Anaheim fell to the Jets by a score of 3-1. He has just seven wins on the season and an NHL-leading 16 losses to go along with a .903 SV% and a 2.97 GAA. He'll have a hard time snapping a personal three-game losing streak on Thursday with the Ducks being +260 underdogs in Carolina.

Gibson will make his first start of 2024 after watching Lukas Dostal heroically save 57 of 59 shots in a 2-1 losing effort to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the Ducks' last contest. In his last outing, Gibson allowed seven goals on 39 shots (.821 SV%) but allowed two or fewer in his previous three (2-1-0), posting a .940 SV%. The Ducks are sizeable +163 home underdogs on Thursday against a red-hot Winnipeg Jets club that played last night, defeating the San Jose Sharks 2-1.

Gibson was terrific in the Ducks' last contest, saving 30 of 32 shots (.938 SV%) in a 5-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights, and will search for his third straight win on Friday. Gibson has saved 48 of the last 51 shots he's faced over the last two games (2-0-0), posting a tremendous .941 SV% in the process. The Ducks defeated the Arizona Coyotes 4-3 on November 1st, with Lukas Dostal between the pipes, but are +115 underdogs against them on Friday night.
