In his first start of the season, Gillies stopped 35 of 37 shots in a 5-2 victory over the Coyotes on Thursday. With David Rittich struggling in the absence of Mike Smith, the Flames will opt to go back to the hot-hand on Saturday in Gillies. He draws another strong matchup this afternoon against the Avalanche.
Gillies is set to make just his second career start and first of the season for the Flames.
