The Kraken have signed Jordan Eberle to a two-year extension worth $9.5 million ($4.75M AAV).

Eberle's name has circulated trade rumours for several weeks, which was halted on Friday when Seattle signed him to a two-year $9.5 million contract extension. The 33-year-old Eberle has enjoyed a semi-productive campaign in his third season with Seattle, scoring 37 points (14G / 23A) in 58 games.

Eberle remains day-to-day and will miss his third-straight game after being cut near a quad muscle by a skate blade at practice last week. The 33-year-old right-winger had been off to a slow start to begin his 2023-24 season as he has one goal, three assists, 28 SOG, nine PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 13 games played. Brandon Tanev will be a game-time decision on Monday and could be an option to slot into Seattle's top six with Eberle out of the lineup.

Eberle was cut near a quad muscle by a skate blade at practice Wednesday and will not play Thursday vs. Colorado as he is considered day-to-day with the injury. The 33-year-old right-winger had been off to a slow start to begin his 2023-24 season as he has one goal, three assists, 28 SOG, nine PIMs and a -8 plus/minus through 13 games played. Shane Wright and Ryan Winterton will be making their season debuts and replacing Eberle in the Kraken's lineup.

Eberle suffered a cut from a skate blade to the upper part of his leg in practice on Wednesday. Kraken GM Ron Francis said that they think they "dodged a bullet" but that Eberle is going to be "sore," so don't expect him to play Thursday in Colorado. The Kraken recalled Shane Wright and Ryan Winterton from the AHL and one of them will take Eberle's spot in the lineup.

Eberle has missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but was on the ice for Monday's morning skate and will be a game-time decision vs. the Penguins. Eberle skated on the top line with Yanni Gourde and Jaden Schwartz (who is also a game-time decision) in the session.

Eberle appeared to suffer a leg injury in Saturday’s win over the Panthers. Head coach Barry Trotz did not have an update on Eberle post-game but the Islanders recalled Oliver Wahlstrom from Bridgeport (AHL) on Monday, which suggests that Eberle won’t be available vs. the Blues.

In his second season with the Islanders, Eberle struggled in the regular season, posting just 37 points (19G / 18A) in 78 games but cranked it up in the playoffs. Eberle got hot in the first two rounds of the postseason, leading the Islanders with nine points (4G / 5A) in eight games. Eberle joins Andrew Ladd and Nick Leddy as players earning $5.5 AAV from the Islanders.
