Bergman is on the move again. The Senators originally acquired Bergman from the Sharks in the Mike Hoffman trade but sent him to Columbus in the Matt Duchene deal last week. Now the 23-year-old, former second-round pick heads to the Rangers, where he is expected to join Hartford (AHL).
Julius Bergman News
Bergman is a right-shot defenseman that was originally drafted by the Sharks in the second-round of the 2014 NHL Draft. The 23-year-old was shipped to Ottawa as a part of the Mike Hoffman deal and is on the move for the second time in a year. Bergman’s offence has dropped off in each of the last two seasons. So far this year, he has no goals and six assists in 33 AHL games and is expected to report to Cleveland (AHL).
Bergman was a second-round pick (No.46 overall) in 2014 and just finished his third season in the AHL. The 22-year-old has good size (6-foot-1 / 205 lbs.) and set a career-high in goals (10) but picked up just 10 assists in 65 games with the San Jose Barracuda (AHL) this season. He will likely report to Belleville to start 2019.
