Brodziak has missed the entire season with a back injury and his career is likely over, so his move is just cap related. The Red Wings take on his contract and retain 50 percent of Green’s contract to allow Edmonton to take on the veteran defenseman.

Brodziak will miss his second straight game with an undisclosed injury. Brad Malone will remain on the Oilers fourth line with Brodziak sidelined.
Brodziak, who was born in nearby St. Paul, Alberta returns to Edmonton, where he played from 2006 to 2009. The 34-year-old showed he still has some left in the tank last year, posting 33 points (10G / 23A) in 81 games with the Blues. He is a defensively-sound, hard-working centre who will play on the Oilers’ fourth line and help their penalty kill.
Brodziak, who has collected five goals and five assists in 33 games this season will come out of the lineup vs. the Jets on Saturday. Oskar Sundqvist will draw in on the fourth line to replace him.
Brodziak was hurt in Pittsburgh on Tuesday and is expected to miss five weeks with a foot injury. The Blues have moved him to IR to create a roster opening to call-up Ivan Barbashev from Chicago (AHL).
Brodziak played just 2:22 in Saturday’s win vs. the Rangers on Saturday before leaving with an upper-body injury. Brodziak will travel to Vancouver, but he is day-to-day and may miss Tuesday’s game. If he’s out look for Dmitrij Jaskin to centre the fourth line.
Brodziak, 32, had 11 points (7G / 4A) in 76 games with the Blues in 2015-16. It was his first season with St. Louis and he will be in a Blues uniform for the next two seasons after spending the first 10 years of his career with the Oilers and the Wild.
Brodziak has missed the last three games, but he is expected to be back in the lineup on tonight vs. the Rangers. Erik Haula is expected to come out to make room for Brodziak.
Brodziak is listed as day-to-day and is expected to be ready for the playoffs. With Brodziak out, Nino Niederreiter will play center for the first time in his NHL career.
Brodziak is back between Powe and Johnson-- where he started the season. In 72 games, he scored 19 goals and 39 points.
Nice signing by the Wild, locking up one of their better offensive players. In 58 games, the center/winger scored 15 goals and 29 points.
Brodziak moves to the second line for tonight's tilt. He has 15 goals and 29 points through 55 games.
The Brodziak line remains in tact but moves back to the third line in the team's depth chart. Brodziak looks to continue his strong season with 11 goals and 18 points through 36 games.
