The NHL’s all-time winningest goalie made the decision after taking a break from the NHL team to ponder his future. Two sources confirmed that Brodeur took the Blues up on the offer of an executive role. Brodeur, 42, joined St. Louis following an injury to Brian Elliott in late November and went 3-3-0 in the only NHL games he ever played outside of the New Jersey Devils organization. He became the odd-man out when Elliott returned earlier this month to reform a tandem with Jake Allen.
