Brodeur was scheduled to start yesterday's game but he left warmups early with a sore back and surrendered the start to Johan Hedberg. Consider Brodeur day-to-day for now and monitor his status as the week progresses, the Devils only have two games this week (Thursday @ JETS and Saturday @ Sabres).
Martin Brodeur News
Brodeur has been stellar this season and has the Devils sitting tied atop the Atlantic Division. He is 7-2-3 with a 2.29 GAA and .912 SV%. He has a solid matchup vs. Washington, however the Capitals have won 3 of their last 4.
Brodeur has won 4 of his last 5 and hasn't allowed more than 3 goals in that span after giving up back-to-back 5 goal games. Brodeur has a good matchup vs. a banged up Senators team.
Brodeur is 6-2-2 with a 2.36 GAA and .908 SV% this season and looks like he can still play at 40. I don't know what to make of his match-up vs. the Flyers because who knows which Flyers team will show up. However the way Brodeur is playing I don't think you can bench him.
Brodeur has won his last 3 starts and has only allowed 4 goals while doing so. Brodeur and the Devils are sitting comfortably atop the Eastern Conference as it stands now and will take on a Hurricanes team who have won 3 of their last 4.
Brodeur has been up and down so far this season. He started the year with 3 good games all resulting in wins, followed by 3 bad games all resulting in losses. He has now had two consecutive wins... So if history repeats itself he is bound for one more good game and win tomorrow. He does have a tough matchup against Pittsburgh though.
Brodeur opened the season with 3 straight wins and followed it up with 3 straight losses. He snapped that 3 game losing skid in his last outing vs. the Rangers, where he played well making 24 saves on 25 shots. He now has a 4-1-2 record with a 2.51 GAA and .907 SV%. He's been a solid fantasy option thus far but is in tough tonight vs. a high-scoring Lightning team.
Brodeur has lost his last 3 starts giving up a combined 14 goals in those 3 contests. Brodeur's hot start to the season has really slowed down. Brodeur is still a solid #2 fantasy goalie option. He has a tough matchup tomorrow against the Rangers.
Brodeur has struggled in his last 2 outings giving up 9 goals and losing both contests. And it doesn't get any easier as he'll face Crosby, Malkin and the rest of the Penguins. I would steer clear of this matchup.
Brodeur is coming off his first loss of the season, but has played very well this season. The Islanders have been surprisingly solid this season but should still be a good matchup for Brodeur tonight.
Brodeur has been great so far this season and the Devils will look to get to 4-0 tonight against the Habs. Brodeur is 3-0-0 with 0.98 GAA and .958 SV%. Ride the hot streak.
Brodeur expected to help the Devils get to 4-0 this season.
Brodeur is off to a great start this season 2-0, 0.50 GAA, .977 SV% and one shutout. He will get the start against a struggling offense in Washington who will look to get back on track. Brodeur is a great play as long he stays hot.
Brodeur wasn't tested much in the season opener stopping 18 of 19 shots the Islanders threw at him. He's should be under more pressure tonight against a good Flyers squad.
Brodeur enters his final season, and by making the Finals last year still has people believing he has what it takes. Brodeur is probably closer to a #2 goalie option this season than he is to a #1. An alright option but I would look elsewhere.
The Devils shuffled the lines tonight in hopes to get a better showing in front of Brodeur.
Shouldn't expect anything different at this point.
Brodeur and the Devils can eliminate the Flyers tonight in Philly.
Brodeur and the Devils will go into Game 4 with a 2-1 series lead.
Brodeur will start Game 3 at home with the series tied at 1-1.
