Dumba (lower-body) is day-to-day and hopes to skate in the next day or two.

Dumba missed Sunday's game vs. the Red Wings because of a lower-body injury that he suffered when he crashed into the boards on Friday. Head coach Bruce Boudreau called him day-to-day and said he hopes to skate on Tuesday or Wednesday, so his status for Tuesday's game is in doubt.

Dumba will be a healthy scratch on Thursday.

Dumba has one goal on five shots and a minus-2 rating in three games this season but it looks like will be be replaced by Mike Reilly in the lineup on Thursday. Don’t expect the young defenseman to sit for very long.

The Wild have recalled Mathew Dumba from Iowa (AHL); expected to play vs. the Flames.

Dumba, 20, who played his junior hockey in Red Deer, Alberta, is expected to play tonight in nearby Calgary. Dumba has five points (2G / 3A) in 23 games with Minnesota. With his time in Iowa, he has collected 14 points (5G / 9A) in 20 games.

The Wild have recalled Mathew Dumba from Iowa (AHL).

Dumba, 20, had one goal and three assists in 20 games with the Wild before being sent down. In Iowa he scored four goals with eight assists for 12 points in 17 games. Expect him to be in the lineup tomorrow in Buffalo.

Matt Dumba
Dumba to start the season on the Wild's top power-play unit.

Dumba, 20, played 13 games with the Wild last season before being sent back to juniors. He has cracked the Wild opening day roster and will play on the third pair with Christian Folin, but will also lineup on the top power-play unit next to Ryan Suter. If he can lock this spot down, he makes for a great pick-up and sleeper candidate. The second-year D-man has a ton of offensive talent, evidenced by his 24 points (8G / 16A) in 26 games with the Portland Winterhawks (WHL) last season.

Matt Dumba
The Wild have loaned Mathew Dumba back to Portland (WHL) for the remainder of the season.

Dumba's demotion will allow him to develop at further at the junior level. He did not exactly dominate the World Junior Championships, so his return to the WHL is likely a good idea for the 19-year-old's development into an everyday NHL defenseman.

Matt Dumba
Minnesota Wild rookie Matt Dumba has been invited to Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp for the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championship. He is one 25 players invited to the camp.

Dumba is the only NHL player on Team Canada's World Junior roster and he has been loaned to the team by the Wild. Dumba has been invited to Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp for the last two seasons, and was the final cut both years, that won't happen this year...

Dumba in; Nate Prosser out.

Dumba was scratched in six of the past seven games. Prosser has played well, but the Wild needs to give a 19-year-old a chance to play or it’ll need to eventually make the decision if it needs to return him to Red Deer despite already hitting that 10-game mark to trigger the first of his three-year deal.

Matt Dumba
Dumba in for the injured Clayton Stoner (leg).

Dumba was the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has one goal and an assist in nine games this season. Dumba is one of the WIld's top prospects and has a good NHL career ahead of him, but until he lands a permanent spot on Minny's blueline, he has no fantasy value except for in deep keeper leagues.

Matt Dumba
Matt Dumba paired with Nate Prosser at skate, signifying Dumba's NHL debut will wait at least a game.

Clayton Stoner will play tonight vs. the Kings and Dumba will sit. He was the seventh overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Dumba is a good skater who likes to rush the puck. His offensive game outshines his defensive game, but he loves to throw big hits, which Wild fans will grow to love.

The Wild has recalled defenseman Mathew Dumba and forward Carson McMillan from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.

Dumba skated in five playoff games with Houston, after appearing in three regular season contests with the Aeros, recording two penalty minutes (PIM). He began the NHL season with Minnesota and was reassigned to WHL Red Deer on Jan. 27. Dumba played in 62 games this season with Red Deer, totaling 42 points (16-26=42) and 80 PIM. He skated in nine playoff games with the Rebels, notching four points (2-2=4) and 14 PIM. The 6-foot, 184-pound native of Regina, Sask., was Minnesota’s first-round pick (No. 7 overall) in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
