With a handful of forwards hurt and Alex Burrows suspended for the next 10 games, Blunden will play his first NHL game of the season. The 31-year-old has 126 games of NHL experience, but has registered a measly 13 points (7G / 6A).
Blunden had no points in 6:37 TOI in his only game during his call-up. The Senators are making moves to add forwards via trades, so Blunden will return to Binghamton.
The Senators are really banged up up front and took a tough loss Friday in Carolina. Blunden comes up having played just one game with Ottawa this season, but has registered 12 goals and 10 assists (22 points) in 47 AHL games this season.
Blunden, 29, has been a fringe NHLer for his entire career, most recently splitting time between the Lightning and Syracuse Crunch (AHL). He had 38 points (21G / 17A) in 49 games with Syracuse and five points (3G / 2A) in 20 games with Tampa Bay. He heads to Ottawa where he will likely split time with the Senators and Binghamton (AHL).

Blunden was called up incase Cedric Paquette was unable to play on Tuesday, but Paquette was good to go, so Blunden has been reassigned to Syracuse.
