With Danny DeKeyser set to return to the Red Wings lineup on Tuesday, Rasmussen has been placed on IR so they could keep Filip Hronek on the roster. Rasmussen won’t play Tuesday and will probably remain out through Friday.
Rasmussen was a late scratch from Sunday’s lineup and will miss his second straight game on Tuesday. Monitor the rookie’s status as the Red Wings head into their back-to-back on Friday/Saturday.
Rasmussen has collected just one assist while averaging 12:33 TOI/GM through the first five games of his NHL career. Being scratched tonight will give Rasmussen a chance to learn a few things from watching and allows Martin Frk a chance to make his season debut.
