The Islanders have recalled Mike Halmo from Bridgeport (AHL).

Halmo was recently sent down, but was quickly recalled after the Islanders traded Thomas Vanek this afternoon. Halmo had two shots while averaging 9:49 TOI in two games last week.

Halmo, 22, has 17 goals and 20 assists (37 points) in 53 games with Bridgeport. Halmo has yet to dress in an NHL contest.

#Isles have signed OHL forward Mike Halmo.

Halmo is currently playing for the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL. He could join the Bridgeport Sound Tigers later in the year.
