Nick Shore News
Shore has not recorded a point while averaging 9:11 TOI/gm through his first two games of the season. With the fourth line rotation continuing, Shore will be replaced by Jason Spezza on Monday.
Shore played 8:33 TOI in his Maple Leafs debut on Wednesday but was replaced by Jason Spezza last night. The Maple Leafs are essentially holding fourth-line auditions while Zach Hyman and Travis Dermott are out, so the player rotation will continue on Saturday.
Shore, who had 16 points in 37 KHL games last season, will make his Maple Leafs debut vs. Ottawa. Shore will centre the fourth line instead of Jason Spezza and has 53 points (15G / 38A) in 236 career NHL games with the Kings, Senators and Flames.
Shore, who was recently acquired by the Senators in the Dion Phaneuf trade, is moved again after picking up just one assist in six games in Ottawa. Shore heads to the Flames, who were looking for a right-handed centre with four goals and 12 assists (16 points) in 55 games this year.
Shore is expected to sit for the third time in four games as the Kings are expected to go with the same lineup that beat the Coyotes 6-0 on Saturday.
Shore played just 8:17 before coming out of Thursday’s game with an upper-body injury. There was no update on Shore’s status postgame, so consider him as questionable for Saturday’s game vs. the Canucks.
Shore had one assist in three games with the Kings before the All Star break. The Kings placed Mike Richards on waivers this morning which suggests that Shore’s call-up will be permanent this time around. He has 42 points (20G / 22A) in 38 games with Manchester this season.
Shore has served as a healthy scratch for the first two games during his recall, but it looks like he will get into the lineup tonight vs. the Ducks. Shore had 41 points (20G / 21A) in 37 games with Manchester (AHL).
Shore, 22, was the Kings third round pick (82nd overall) in the 2011 draft. He is tied for the AHL lead in goals with 20 and is second in points with 41. With Tanner Pearson out with a broken bone in his leg, Shore could with the Kings for awhile.
