It took game 82 of the regular season, but Oliver Bonk will make his much anticipated debut on Tuesday vs. Montreal. The 21-year-old was Philadelphia's 2023 1st round pick (22nd overall) and had six goals and 19 points in 44 games with Lehigh Valley (AHL) in his first season of professional hockey. Bonk is one of Philadelphia's most coveted prospects and has been recalled from Lehigh Valley (AHL) for the first time on Tuesday with the Flyers' expected to sit some regular for Game 82 vs. Montreal. Bonk was drafted in the 1st round of the 2023 NHL Draft (22nd overall) but experienced some ups and downs in his first professional season in the AHL, with six goals, 19 points and a -10 plus/minus.

Bonk's hopes of cracking Philadelphia's lineup out of training camp took another hit on Wednesday after the team announced he would be out for two more weeks due to a lower-body injury. The 20-year-old defenseman was Philadelphia's 2023 1st round pick (22nd overall) and is coming off a strong, 11-goal, 40-point campaign with London (OHL) in 2024-25. He is expected to start the season in Lehigh Valley (AHL) when he is healthy enough to return.

Bonk was drafted by Philadelphia in the 1st round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft (22nd overall) and has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Flyers worth $950,000 AAV. The 18-year-old son of NHL legend Radek Bonk, had 10 goals, 30 assists, 38 PIMs, and a +17 plus/minus through 67 games with London (OHL) in 2022-23. He is expected to return to London for the 2023-24 season.
