Oscar Fantenberg News
Fantenberg had a tough night in Tampa Bay on Tuesday, so he'll come out in Florida and give Jordie Benn a chance to get back in the lineup. Benn has been a healthy scratch for six games and Fantenberg has been held scoreless eight a minus-8 rating over that span.
With Alexander Edler out, Fantenberg will make his debut for the Vancouver Canucks. Fantenberg has only played in two AHL games this season and has just 13 points (4G / 9A) in 88 career NHL games with the Kings and Flames.
Fantenberg did not register a point in two games with the Comets and returns to Vancouver because Quinn Hughes suffered a lower-body injury on Friday night. Fantenberg or Ashton Sautner will likely replace Hughes on Saturday night.
Fantenberg is a 27-year-old left-shot defenseman with three points (2G / 1A) in 46 games with the Kings this season. Fantenberg appeared in four playoff games last season and provides the Flames with some extra D-depth while Michael Stone is sidelined.
Fantenberg was not on the ice for the morning skate and will not play Thursday in Dallas. Sean Walker is expected to replace him and skate with Dion Phanuef. Fantenberg is day-to-day.
Fantenberg has no points while averaging just 13:38 TOI in four games this season. He has swapped spots with Paul LaDue frequently this season, but will sit with LaDue tonight and Sean Walker will make his NHL debut.
Fantenberg has picked up nine points (2G / 7A) across 26 NHL games this season but has been a healthy scratch for the last three games, so he will switch places with Paul LaDue to get some playing time in Ontario.
Fantenberg was back in the lineup for the last two games, but will come out tonight vs. the Predators. Fantenberg will be replaced by Christian Folin.
