Rinne was the first goalie off of the ice at the Predators' morning skate.

Rinne made 33 saves on 35 shots in the Predators 5-2 victory over the Sharks on Tuesday. Rinne has had the ideal start to the 2019-20 season, going 2-0 while allowing just four goals on 59 shots (.932 SV%). He is now 21-9-1 in his last 31 games in Nashville and has won each of his last three starts vs. the Capitals.

Rinne stopped 22 of 24 shots in the Predators season-opening win over the Wild last Thursday. Juuse Saros lost his start vs. Detroit on Saturday, so the Predators will come back to Rinne tonight vs. the Sharks. The veteran did not face San Jose last year, but the Sharks are off to a terrible start and Rinne is an impressive 20-9-1 in his last 30 starts on home-ice.

The Predators continue to scale back Rinne’s usage, but he should probably start at least 50 games for the ninth time in his career. Rinne game up five goals on 26 shots in the Predators 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 5. After a hot-start to the playoffs, Rinne has give up a combined nine goals on just 34 shots (.735 SV%) in the last two games. The series now shifts back to Dallas where Rinne turned in a sparking 40-save performance in a Game 3 win but was also pulled just 14 minutes into a Game 4 blowout loss. If Nashville wants to keep their season alive, Rinne will need to be at his best tonight.

Rinne was pulled after allowing four goals on eight shots in the Predators 5-1 loss in Dallas in Game 4. Rinne was hung out to dry early in the contest and it resulted in a short night for the veteran netminder. The series heads back to Nashville, where Rinne stopped 48 of the 52 shots (.923 SV%) in the first two games of the series.

Rinne stooped 22 of 23 shots in the Predators 2-1 overtime win in Game 2. Rinne has been far less busy than Ben Bishop through two games but has played just as well, stopping 48 of the 52 shots (.923 SV%) that he has faced so far. Rinne was solid on the road this year, posting a .915 SV% in 27 appearances, so the series shifting to Dallas should not affect him too much.

Rinne had another solid season, finishing 10th in wins (30) and GAA (2.42) and tied for 11th in SV% (.918). The Predators draw a first-round matchup with the Stars, who Rinne went 1-2-0 with a 2.77 GAA and .916 SV% against this season. The 36-year-old was 7-6 with a 3.07 GAA, .904 SV% and two shutouts in 13 playoff games a year ago.
