Howden will be held out for precautionary measures. Although he scored 40 goals and 79 points last season in the WHL, the left wing probably returns to Juniors for one more season. Keep an eye out for the former 25th overall pick next season.
Howden left Tuesday's game after a big hit in the second period. The first-year pro was expected to start the season in the AHL but could see a call-up due to injuries or if he wows the coaching staff. The team is likely holding him out for precautionary measures as to not hinder his development with missed time.
