Simek has been sidelined by an upper-body injury since February 13th but is expected to replace either Nicolas Meloche or Frederik Claesson in the Sharks lineup on Saturday. Simek has two assists, five shots and a minus-2 rating in 11 games this season.

Simek was banged up in training camp but head coach Bob Boughner expects to have him for the "St. Louis series" which suggests that he'll miss the season-opening back-to-back in Arizona.
Simek started the season on IR with a leg injury and missed more time in December after undergoing a knee operation. Overall, he missed 22 games, recording nine points (2G / 7A) with 1.9 hits and 1.3 blocked shots per game in 48 games. Signing a four-year extension means the Sharks have Simek, Brent Burns, Erik Karlsson and Marc-Edouard Vlasic all signed through at least 2024.
Simek has been out since December 7th but appears set to replace Jacob Middleton on Friday. Simek has one goal and three assists in 16 games this season. Simek has some banger league appeal, averaging 2.25 hits and 1.4 blocks per game.
Simek is expected to miss two weeks as he undergoes treatment on his meniscus, which means Tim Heed will draw into the lineup on Sunday.
Simek missed the first 15 games of the season after undergoing knee surgery in the spring but will play Tuesday vs. the Blackhawks. It has not been confirmed but he is expected to replace Tim Heed and suit up on the third-pair. Simek has one goal and eight assists (nine points) in 41 games this season.
Simek underwent knee surgery in March and was assigned to the Barracuda for a conditioning stint last Monday. The 27-year-old blueliner had two assists in two AHL games and his return to the Sharks suggests that he will make his season debut on Tuesday (vs. CHI) or Thursday (vs. MIN).
Simek is expected to resume practicing soon but is expected to miss the season opener vs. the Golden Knights. With Simek’s status in question, the Sharks may open the season with a third-pairing of Mario Ferraro and Dalton Prout.

Simek has missed the last two games with a concussion but could be back Monday vs. the Kings. Simek is officially questionable so monitor his status as the Sharks hit the ice for warmups. Simek has recorded five points (1G / 4A) in 14 games since being recalled from the AHL.
Simek suffered a concussion in a collision with Sam Bennett on Monday. With Simek out on Wednesday, Joakim Ryan will draw back onto the blueline for just the second time in 15 games.
