Hintz was banged up early in Game 4 in a collision with teammate Corey Perry and never returned. This is a problem for the Stars, who are already without Radek Faksa, leaving them extremely thin at centre. Hintz missed the last two games with an upper-body injury but is set to play tonight in New York. Not only does it look like he'll play but it looks like Hintz will be on the top-line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin on his wings. Hintz has 15 goals with nine assists (24 points) in 42 games this season.
Hintz was on the ice for Friday's practice and Saturday's morning skate but will miss his second straight games with an upper-body injury. With Hintz and Justin Dowling out, Joel Kiviranta was recalled from the AHL and will play in New Jersey.
Hintz left Monday's game with an upper-body after his first shift and did not return. Head coach Rick Bowness said that Hintz is day-to-day and will not play vs. the Maple Leafs.
