Ryan Getzlaf News
Getzlaf is officially listed as a game-time decision but being activated from IR suggests that he'll play Saturday in San Jose. Getzlaf has missed the last nine games with a lower-body injury.
Getzlaf is set to miss his third straight game on Thursday, so the Ducks moved him to IR to open cup a roster spot to call-up some reinforcements. Jakob Silfverberg was also placed on IR, so they'll be without three of their regular forwards on Thursday.
Getzlaf missed the last two games with a lower-body injury but will be back in the lineup vs. the Sharks. Getzlaf will be back on a line with Troy Terry and Sonny Milano and comes in with three goals and 24 assists (27 points) in 42 games.
Getzlaf was on the ice for the morning skate but has been ruled out for the second straight game. Sam Steel will remain in Getzlaf's spot.
Getzlaf suffered a lower-body injury in Los Angeles last Tuesday and was moved to IR on Sunday night. The move was made to open up a roster spot for Bo Groulx to be called-up from the AHL for the Ducks road-trip. Getzlaf will miss at least Monday's game.
This is a tough break for Getzlaf, who was having a resurgent season on the Ducks' top line. He's listed as week-to-week, so he definitely won't play Friday in Calgary.
Getzlaf left after playing just 2:48 TOI and did not return after falling awkwardly along the boards. After Getzlaf left, Sam Steel took over between Troy Terry and Adam Henrique. Consider him questionable to play Wednesday.
